Does the Fruitifree-z actually freeze ingredients or do you add in pre-frozen?
The Fruitifree-z does not freeze the fruit or soft serve for you – all fruit ingredients added into the chute must be PRE-FROZEN and will result in a creamy smooth texture similar to soft-serve ice cream or sorbet.
What type of fruits can you use in the Fruitifree-z?
In order to get a creamy texture use fruits like bananas, mangoes, peaches or apricots. If you introduce water-based fruits like apples or strawberries alone you will get a sorbet or slushie texture. To achieve the best results, alternate between the ingredients.
Do not introduce fibrous fruits like pineapple, orange or lemon because fibers could be stuck inside Fruitifree-z and prevent the exit of ice cream.
Why I need to thaw the fruits before introducing them into the Fruitifree-z?
You need to allow fruits to thaw slightly to achieve the best consistency in order to be processed by the Fruityfree-z. Otherwise if the fruit is very hard it may cause damage to the machine.
How long should I thaw the fruits?
Thaw time depends on type and size of fruit. Berries should thaw for around 5 minutes, while larger fruit such as peaches may need to thaw 15-20 minutes. You can also use the microwave for a few seconds.
Do I have to remove the skin and seeds of the vegetables and fruits?
Do not place skins, tough cores, fruit pits, ice or honey into the Fruitifree-z.
Peel the fruit and remove tough cores and seeds before introducing it into Fruitifree-z. This could be done more easily before freezing the fruit.
Can I add nuts, chocolate chips, or other hard ingredients into the Fruitifree-z?
Yes! However large pieces of hard ingredients like nuts, hard candies, chocolate, and chunky granolas may clog the auger and cause damage to the machine. Any mix-in ingredients larger than a standard chocolate chip must be crushed or chopped into smaller pieces before adding to the Fruitifree-z chute.
